How is the Fab-Dis organised?

A Fab-Dis edition appears as an Excel file displaying the product data of the manufacturer under a particular structure and organised around specific blocks.

The first five are mandatory to fullfill. Without a full completion, the Fab-Dis cannot be validated and it cannot be used by the distributors. Therefore, it is essential to fill them properly.

B00: CARTOUCHE

This block covers the basic information of the current file. Among the content we can find the manufacturer´s name, the brand(s), the date of the file application and implementation, and the total number of references.

B01: COMMERCE

This section presents all the references (SKUs): name, description, base price, product line, status, customs code, minimum sales quantity.

Please take into consideration that individual price conditions shall be indicated on a separate and complentary file, the CNR: Conditions Négociées et Remisées.

B02: LOGISTIQUE

This area provides detailed information on the product's dimensions, weight, and packaging conditions.

B03: MEDIA

Here shall be shared all the multi-canal publications: pictures, videos, brochures, diagrams. It is particularly important to check the data format and to make sure that the content is easily accessible to the distributors.

B04: REGLEMENTAIRE

Regulatory information are provided on the concerned products. Please take into consideration that they are not all covered here. This area is specifically reserved for French standards, and it is influenced by the products presented: eco-contribution, repairability index, carbon footprint, Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)., etc.

They are six other optional blocs. Although the Fab-Dis can be validated without these elements, it can considerably optimise the product content information required by the distributors. Moreover, the ETIM classification is considered as an fundamental standard required by the specialised distributors. Therefore it is primordial to develop that part as well.

C01: EXTENSION

This part enables us to give more product information related to the B01: COMMERCE and B02: LOGISTIQUE blocks: necessary parts, recodification, made in, product aspect, etc.

C02: CORRESPONDANCE

We can connect products: not only can we link the main and spare parts, but it is also the chance to highligh cross-selling opportunities.

C03: VARIANTE

Filter parameters can be here defined from the product attributes, to help in the product selection.

C04: ETIM

This section is dedicated to provide the ETIM classification code by product. Please note that only the ETIM versions 7.0 to 10.0 are accepted.

C05: ARRET

Discontinued references remain relevant. Technical product information, as well with spare parts availability, shall be here detailed.

C06: SUBSTITUTION

Finally, we can use this area to dig more deeply on replaced references.

To note: the discontinued articles must then be notified on the block C05: ARRET and the current articles are the ones appearing on the block B01: COMMERCE.

In addition, Fab-Dis publications have to be timely organised around product onboarding activities, to be sure that the next Fab-Dis edition does include the new references.
